We absolutely love a good lemonade recipe! It’s the perfect treat: sweet, a little bit tart, and so refreshing on warm spring and summer days when the temperatures are rising. This Frozen Blueberry Lemonade has one of the best flavor combinations ever, and it has a fun slushy texture that kids adore.
How to Make Frozen Lemonade
We start off with a traditional lemonade recipe made from fresh lemon juice, sugar, and cold water. We recommend blending it all together to be sure the sugar dissolves! Then toss in a couple of ice cubes and blend it into a sweet lemon slush. Pour into tall glasses or a clear pitcher and serve with long-handled iced-tea spoons.
Blueberry Lemonade Topping
Here's the part that everyone loves: serve the lemonade with a pitcher of thick and fruity blueberry sauce! Everyone can top their drinks with beautifully-hued, sweet blueberries, then watch the painterly effects of the thick blueberry sauce floating to the bottom of their glasses. It truly is table art, and is so refreshing!
Homemade Blueberry Sauce
This blueberry simple syrup is made with fresh summer blueberries (frozen also works), a pinch of sugar, and cornstarch. When blueberries are in season we like to make extra batches to freeze and keep on hand for ice cream, cake, or fruit salad topping! You could also use strawberries, cherries, or blackberries to make variations on this recipe.
Other Ways to Sweeten Lemonade
If you’re looking for alternative ways to sweeten your lemonade and balance out the natural sour tang of lemons, try:
- Agave
- Maple syrup
- Coconut Sugar - We advise using a blender so the coconut sugar will properly dissolve.
- Simple syrup - Equal parts sugar and water dissolved over medium heat and then cooled

this sounds delicious how long can the sauce be kept in the fridge for ?
mayihavethatrecipe
You can keep the sauce in the refrigerator for up to a week, as long as it doesn't become "contaminated" (meaning nothing gets to it, like crumbs, dirty spoons, etc). It's great on ice cream and even make a great topping for cheesecake! Enjoy!!

The best lemonade I've ever had!

Very good... I recommend straining the blueberry sauce so you don't have chunks of blueberry peal in your drink.
