Mushroom, Goat & Gouda Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Mushroom, Goat & Gouda Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Nope, it’s not grilled cheese month yet. That would mean we’re in the month of April, and it definitely doesn’t look like it, or feel like it, out there, as we’re waiting for the first “official” Nor’easter  to arrive tonight. As if we needed anything to be “official” to let us know how much this winter stinks. Sigh…

Official or not,  big, messy, annoying, paralyzing snow storms always call for one thing: comfort food. And growing up in our household, nothing screams “comfort” louder than crunchy bread and cheese. Now take that dynamic duo, fancify a little bit, and you’ll take comfort to a whole new level.

And our friends at “Les Petites Fermieres” and Joy of Kosher are giving us the perfect chance do just that. Crunchy bread, creamy goat cheese, nutty gouda, wild mushrooms and crispy apple. Add a touch of grain mustard, and you there  you have it. Perfection.

So go ahead winter storm Pax. Bring it on. You’re just giving us another excuse to indulge in delicious food :)

Love the apple in these sandwiches! And the bread looks awesome!

When winter storms start having names – its time to join the birds and fly south or join the bears and hibernate :)

Thank you!! The apple gives it a nice touch of freshness and crunchiness to compliment the gooey cheese :)

Can’t say we haven’t considered hibernation!!! This is brutal. We’re sooo over it!!!
