- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp dry thyme
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1-5.3oz container non fat Greek yogurt
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 3 tbsp grape seed or vegetable oil
- 3 tbsp non fat milk
- 1 cup Natural and Kosher Mexican Blend cheese
- For the frosting:
- 1 pack Natural and Kosher Fines Herbs goat cheese, at room temperature
- 3 tbsp non fat milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400F. Coat a non stick donut pan with cooking spray
- In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, onion powder, thyme, salt and pepper and mix well
- In a large bowl, whisk together Greek yogurt, oil and milk. Add beaten eggs and continue whisking until well incorporated. Add cheese and mix well
- Add flour mixture and mix with a wooden spoon until just incorporated (do not overmix)
- Spoon batter into donut pan and gently spread it using your fingers (the batter will be sticky, wet your fingers slightly so you can spread it without sticking)
- Bake for 15 minutes and let them cook completely before frosting
- For the frosting:
- Whisk together goat cheese and milk, adding the milk one tablespoon at a time and mixing well after each addition.
- Let donuts cool and spread goat cheese frosting before serving
