Description

What is Agua Fresca?

Agua fresca means "cool water" in Spanish.  It is typically made by blending fresh fruit with fresh cool water and adding some lemon or lime juice and a sweetener if desired.  It is very refreshing a thirst-quenching. In our agua fresca recipe, we replaced the water for coconut water for added flavor and electrolytes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 fresh pineapple, core removed and diced
  • 3 cups coconut water
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp agave (or to taste. You can also use your favorite sweetener here)
  • 1 pint frozen blackberries (optional)

Instructions

  1. Puree pineapple in the blender until smooth. Add coconut water, lime juice and agave and serve cold
  2. If using blackberries add to drink right before serving

Notes

We recommend using cold pineapple and coconut water if you're planning on enjoying this drink without chilling it first. The frozen blackberries act as ice cubes that add color and flavor to the agua fresca without watering it down
