- 2-1 inch thick slices challah bread
- 2 ounces Sincerely Brigitte Orange Ginger Cheese, cut into about 10 slices
- 4 tsp orange marmalade
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp sugar
- Zest of one orange
- 1/2 tsp butter
- Garnish (optional):
- Maple syrup
- Blood orange
Instructions
- Make a little pocket on each challah slice, cutting down the middle but making sure you don't cut all the way through.
- Spread 1 teaspoon of marmalade on each side of the slit. Arrange 5 slices of cheese inside
- Whisk milk, egg, sugar and orange zest in a wide bowl. Carefully soak bread slices on both sides
- Heat butter on a large, non stick skillet. Cook about 6-7 minutes per side on medium low or until golden brown and cheese is melted. Serve hot with maple syrup and fresh blood orange
