  • 2 large Granny Smith or Ginger Gold apples, diced (yields about 3 cups)
  • 1/4 cup agave nectar
  • Juice of 1 small lemon
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (or to taste)

Instructions

  1. Combine diced apples, agave nectar and lemon juice in a medium size sauce pan and mix well. Cook over medium heat for 20 minutes, stirring often
  2. Add cinnamon, mix well and continue cooking for another 20 minutes, gently mashing the apples with the back of the spoon or using a potato masher. Stir frequently to keep the apples from sticking
  3. Let cool completely and refrigerate until ready to use
